Learn to find IT talents at GitHub!
GitHub is one of the major tools for finding talented IT candidates and all good recruiters should be able to use it. If that’s not your case and you lack in experience of using GitHub, don’t worry and join this workshop. Michal is a former IT developer and the owner of successful IT companies all over the world where he has always been very particular about recruitment. Although he has already sold those companies, now he fully focuses on recruitment and at his company called the “Geekruiter” he trains IT recruiters on how to hire programmers and other IT experts.
In his workshop, Michal will focus on GitHub, show you the structure and explain to you what you can find there. He will also show you the background of the platform which you may not know about and which can help you significantly get to know the candidate’s background and skills. He will teach you how to find your bearings in the candidate’s code at GitHub without actually having to know programming and how to estimate that the candidate is suitable without knowing the code in detail. At the same time, he will advise you on how to approach candidates, what works for them and what they want to hear. Last but not least, Michal will give you a few tips how to lead personal interviews with such candidates, so that they don’t think of you as the boring people from HR who they need to talk to before actually getting to the technical manager.
